Narrative Short

28 Minutes

Steven, a young marine scout sniper on combat leave from Afghanistan, returns home for the first time since leaving after high school. His failure to reconnect with his family and friends, and to a way of life that was once comfortable, triggers a rapid descent into an unstable perception of both himself and the world around him. What was originally a vacation from a war zone, morphs into an environment so foreign, it drives him to the brink of complete destruction of those closest to him.

Jim Jacobi – Director

Originally from Houston, TX, Jim received a B.A. in Military History from Texas Tech University in 2009. After a short, albeit successful, stint in corporate America, Jim uprooted everything to move to Los Angeles in 2012 to pursue a career in filmmaking. In 2015 he successfully defended his thesis film, “We Men Are Lions,” to receive a M.F.A. in Film & Television Production from Loyola Marymount University.

He has produced a number of short films, including “Seeing the Elephant,” “Barnyard Slop Trough,” and the award-winning “Trash, Manufactured.” He is also Co-Producer on the upcoming feature film “Traces” (starring Pablo Schreiber and Rick Springfield), and currently in development on projects that focus on the Iraq War, the Afghanistan War, and Vietnam.  Jim resides in Los Angeles with his always-supportive wife Monica.
