A cadet dressed in Full Dress pays homage to four tokens that symbolize four of the five souls that the Long Gray Line lost within a 4 month window in 2016.
He dons a memorial bracelet for CDT Mitch Whiney, visits the grave site of CDT Tom Surdyke, visits a plaque for 2LT Mike Parros and CDT Brandon Jackson (both from the same cadet company), and finally visits the locker-turned-shrine for CDT Brandon Jackson, who was a member of the Army Football team.
The fifth loss, 2LT Andrew Hunt, occurred during production and is honored with brief remarks at the end.
Director, Producer, Writer
Born and raised at West Point as an army brat, Austin has always been immersed in the military lifestyle. Originally ‘raised’ as a mechanical engineer, Austin’s creativity took the form of novel and elaborate design work. It wasn’t until sophomore year as a cadet at West Point that he would happen upon a talent and passion for film. Now a senior, Austin has spent the past three years making a name for himself at the Academy finding new ways to proliferate cadet-produced film projects in hopes of telling the story of the Corps of Cadets.
Austin will graduate this May with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, branch Aviation, and commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. After his career in the army, he intends to enter the industry and pursue his passion for film.
