Director, Producer, Writer
I grew up in Houston, Texas, and was first captured by the interest of story production through countless hours spent nose-deep in Legos adventures. You build the world around your characters and dictate their fates.
I was in elementary school when the advent of mini-dv tapes and affordable video cameras became available at a consumer level. My friend’s dad bought a video camera and we proceeded to make Jackass-style home videos.
I was fortunate that my high school had an excellent arts program, and was one of the first high schools in Houston to offer a digital movie-making art elective. I was able to work with the camera and collaborate with other students that were just as interested in conveying the imagery we had in our heads to the world. Every quarter, our class would put on a sketch show in front of the whole school. This was the beginning of my insatiable appetite to entertain others with what I loved to do: create.
I graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in Film Production. I interned in New York and Los Angeles over the summers between semesters at Syracuse. I opted for the West Coast due to a temporal disposition to warmer weather. The cold indifference of the North East was traded for a more saturated indifference of the West.
Jon Conklin is a Filmmaker and Visual Effects Artist based out of New York City. He graduated from Syracuse University in 2011 with a BFA in Film Production with a focus on Visual Effects and Computer Art.
He and William were classmates at Syracuse and they have collaborated on a number of projects together.
“I’m very interested in exploring the intersection of VFX and computer imagery and the possibilities those technologies have created for storytelling in film.”
