Sebastian Maselli, Co-Director & Co-Producer
The Blood We Shed
Sebastian Maselli is an Iraq war veteran who spent seven years in the United Stated Marines Corps. During his last two years of active duty he was assigned to the Wounded Warrior Battalion West in Camp Pendleton, CA. While at the Wounded Warrior Battalion he assisted injured Marines in their recovery efforts and served as a mentor.
Before being honorably discharged in July of 2009, Sebastian began attending California State University San Marcos, where he is currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mass Media Production as well as a minor in Visual Arts and Technology. In the spring of 2009, Sebastian enrolled in a documentary film studies course where he met Ryan Smith, another Mass Media Production major; this is where the “Blood We Shed” project originated. Ryan and Sebastian teamed up for what began as a class assignment, but after witnessing the courageous and inspiring stories of the wounded Marines they soon realized that this was much more than a simple college assignment.
