
Lyn McCall
The War Inside
Lyn McCall, COO of WILL Interactive, has 45 years working on improving human performance. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines as an infantry private in 1966 and retired as an aviation colonel in 1992. During his service in Vietnam he flew 788 helicopter gunship missions and was recognized for heroism/heroics in combat three times. He had eight years of command time at levels ranging from Force Troops ANGLICO platoon through NATO Aviation Combat Element. He attended Army Airborne School and had 26 jumps with First ANGLICO, including night jumps, water jumps and night water jumps. He was a charter member of the DOD Modeling and Simulation working group and served as the Executive Secretary of the Defense Science Board task force on High Leverage Technology Support for Operation Desert Storm. As a member of the U.S. Delegation to the Conventional Forces in Europe Arms Control Treaty talks in Vienna, he was the senior U.S. military negotiator in bilateral discussions with military leaders from the former Soviet Union.
Since retiring from the Marines 1992, Lyn has continued studying the art and science of how to improve human performance through simulations. His industry positions have included program analyst, program manager, group director, vice president, and executive vice president. As co-founder and COO of WILL Interactive, he has been the executive producer for approximately 70 interactive movie Virtual Experience Immersive Learning Simulations (VEILS®) on topics that include: Leadership, Jumpmaster/Pathfinder, Lesson Learned in Iraq & Afghanistan, Anti Terrorism/Force Protection, Ethical Decision Making, Racial Profiling, and Crisis Management. His VEILS® development partners at WILL have included the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Federal Bureau of Investigation, all branches of the U.S. military, and law enforcement professionals in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and Israel.
He holds three masters degrees and was a DOD Senior Executive Fellow at Harvard University in 1991. His military education included Marine Corps Basic School, Amphibious Warfare School, Marine Corps Command & Staff College, Air Force Command & Staff College, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and the College of Naval Warfare.
