The G.I. Film Festival, the nation’s only film festival to honor the successes and sacrifices of American service members through the medium of film, announces the winning films from the 2010 festival in Washington, D.C.
An external panel of expert producers and directors selected the winners in each category. Of the 175 films submitted for this year’s festival, 35 were chosen to be screened during the five-day event, including 22 world premieres. The films covered every major military conflict, with themes ranging from courage and sacrifice on the battlefield to the struggles of homelessness and post-traumatic stress on the home front.
