Dear Friends,

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the GI Film Festival and to thank you for taking the time to join us in celebration of the Armed Forces.

We launched the GI Film Festival in 2007 for one simple reason: to let artists tell the story of our great troops, their successes and their sacrifices.  And in only its fourth year, the GI Film Festival has become the nation’s most significant venue for the screening of military films, while achieving some notable successes.

Overall, the GI Film Festival will feature 38 film screenings, including 22 world premieres, red carpet events, VIP parties, celebrity guests and filmmaker workshops.  Festival films cover every major conflict from the Civil War through the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Whatever kind of film floats your boat, we’ve got it.  From gritty, intense combat films to patriotic tear jerkers to historical documentaries to controversial films guaranteed to get your blood boiling.

These films will allow you to see the life of the American warrior from a variety of perspectives; from the active duty service member inside the arena of war, to the wounded warrior struggling to overcome their disability, to the military spouse at home waiting for their loved one to return.  This diversity is at the heart of what we offer at the GI Film Festival.
