Grace is Gone
Stanley Phillips (John Cusack) is an awkward family man who works in a home supply store instead of following his dream of serving his country in Iraq. Poor eyesight held him back from his dream but his wife Grace went on to become a sergeant. While Grace serves in Iraq, Stanley looks after their two daughters Heidi 12(Shelan O‘Keefe)and Dawn 8 (Gracie Bednarczyk). The girls miss their mother intensely but Stanley is unable to be the affectionate parent they need. Instead he shuts down his emotions, creating a serious and tense atmosphere in the household which only compounds the emptiness of Grace‘s absence. When tragedy strikes Stanley takes his daughters on a road trip, half in denial about what has just happened and half trying to form a close bond with his daughters.
